I’ve been wanting to grow my own herb garden for a while now but wasn’t sure how or where I wanted to do it. My friend had a really cute indoor planter from Ikea, but it didn’t have drainage, and I just had a feeling a little someone in my house might destroy it. Plus, I didn’t want to spend the money on it.
So, I decided to come up with something that was cost effective and would work for our house. I am so happy with the results, so I had to share!
First, J and I went to the greenhouse to buy the herbs. We got thyme, chives, eucalyptus, cilantro, two types of parsley, rosemary, oregano, basil, sage, teragon, and dill We got all of these for $12.

Then, I searched quite a few places for planters, but they were all over $4. I needed 12, so I wanted to find something a little cheaper. Thank you, dollar store! I found these cute little red pals there!

I just drilled a few small holes in the bottom so they could drain (Hub helped, but I did actually do a lot myself 😉).

Then, I had Hub drill the pals into the posts on our back porch. We used precise measurements here – 42 inches off the ground (just out of J’s reach) then 7 inches between each one.

All there was left to do was plant the herbs and water them. It turned out so cute. Now, let’s just hope l remember to keep them watered! 😊
